Vanessa is an NYC-based producer and screenwriter (film, theater and television) who has worked in development with top-level entertainment industry talent for nearly two decades. Her work as a writer and producer has received numerous awards having earned her recognition from industry bodies including AMPAS/Oscar®’s Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship (film) and Sony Worldwide Entertainment’s Emerging Filmmakers Program (tv). She co-founded the New York Screenwriters Co-Op and is faculty at both Gotham Writers Workshop (NYC) and Staffordshire University (UK) where she teaches postgraduate screenwriting and production. For two consecutive years (2017 & 2018) Vanessa has been named one of Vanity Fair’s “Downtown 100”, an annual list that recognizes New York’s top young producers in the entertainment industry. She has written and produced 3 web series, 3 short films, a profitable off-off Broadway play, and most recently, co-produced, co-created and wrote a tv pilot for Sony Playstation Entertainment (Two Roads will premiere in June 2018.) In early 2019, Vanessa will produce her first feature film as well as a second off-off Broadway play (called "Maybe Tomorrow"). She is a four-time appointee and board member of The Diversity List and a NextGen board member of BC/EFA. She is originally from Canada.
